What does it cost to install the Moen Flo?
On The Way Plumbing charges $2,875 for full installation of a 1″ leak detection system + 3 sensors. The required inspection has no additional charge. There may be add-on costs for parts and labor to ensure system compatibility and code compliance.
What Happens if I lose wifi or power?
If your Wi-Fi goes down, the Moen Flo still monitors your system and can shut off water based on local sensors. If you lose power, a battery backup accessory will keep the device running for up to four hours. Without the battery backup, the device won’t function during a power outage.
Are there other smart water shutoff systems besides Moen Flo?
Yes, there are several brands on the market, including Phyn and Guardian. While each system has its own features, we recommend the Moen Flo because it offers whole-home coverage from a single device, advanced leak detection (even microleaks), and a reliable app with no subscription fees. It’s also backed by a major manufacturer with proven performance and readily available replacement parts. That said, On The Way Plumbing can install any smart shutoff system you prefer.
